Selecting the correct flue system for your Euro fireplace…
The flue is an essential component for your fireplace. Selecting the correct system ensures the successful functioning for your closed combustion fireplace. Flue requirements vary depending on wall / ceiling heights, roof type etc. Below are important aspects to consider for selecting your flue system.
Decide if you are going to require your flue system to go through a roof or through a wall.
Decide the exact place where you would like to place your fireplace – the most important consideration is to find the most linear (straightest) and shortest path that arrives outside to make the draft work efficiently for extracting smoke to the outside.
For through the wall requirements – we have a standard flue system that consists of all the components for a standard single story building. The standard system can be added to for double volume / story buildings by selecting custom components to complete the flue for your fireplace.
For through the roof requirements – it is important to consider the type of roof (e.g. tiled, IBR, corrugated iron, thatch, etc.) of your building. This determines the correct components (roof boot) for water proofing purposes.
It is also important to consider the pitch of your roof and if there are any objects (e.g. roof beams) that will obstruct the path of your flue system. We have a standard flue system that consists of all the components for a standard single story building, installed at the lowest side of the pitch of a roof. The standard system can be added to for double volume / story buildings by selecting custom components to complete the flue for your fireplace.
